At Doshi, our aim is to provide not just luxurious, fashionable and high-quality vegan bags and handbags, but to provide them in a way that doesn’t harm the environment.
We are constantly working towards using all sustainable materials for every one of our products. At the same time, we have to make sure that our products are strong and durable so they will last you a lifetime.
Here’s what we’re doing to meet our sustainability goals.
In an effort to reduce the waste in the fashion industry, we have been using recycled polyester for the interior of most of our handbags.
The process for making recycled polyester starts with breaking down single use plastic bottles (PET bottles) into pellets. These are then melted, cooled and spun into a kind of yarn, which can then be woven into fabric and used in new products – such as our bags!
So, instead of using new synthetic fabrics which might take more energy to produce, we use this recycled fabric. This is a win-win – we get beautiful liners for our bags and less plastic is being dumped into landfills or our oceans.
In order to deliver our products to your doorstep safely, we are required to use material to pack around it. However, we try and minimize the packaging we have to use; again, we use as much recycled materials as possible.
Our dust bags made from 100% recycled material. Even our swing tags are made from recycled materials! The cardboard boxes in which we send our products are for 90% made up of recycled materials.
Additionally, we try to reduce the amount or eliminate the use of plastic used in the shipping process.
From time to time, we have samples of upcoming or recently released products that we no longer need, items that have been used in displays, or customer returns that can't be sold as new. Instead of wasting these items and materials, we are offering these items with big discounts!
You can have a look at the current sale items here. Please note that some of these items may be less than perfect. Some items are good as new, some items have some small cosmetic defects. Each item has a description which tells you exactly why the product is discounted.
By offering these items to you with discount, you can save money, and we can save materials from going to waste.
