Hi Donald! We noticed your review and wanted to offer the following advice to help the belt come off easier. Push the belt in ever so slightly (as if you wanted to make it tighter) and then pull the lever. The release will be much smoother as the metal tooth holding it's place on the track will have some tension taken off of it. Warmly, Paras The Doshi Team
